REALLIFE Magazine Presents Whitecolumns
1982
One of the original artist-run spaces in SoHo was 112 Greene Street, site of many significant installations and performances in the late 60s and early 70s. By the end of the decade people had moved on and it was floundering, lost its lease. Somehow the organization revived itself with a new name, a new space far west on Spring Street, and with a new director, Josh Baer, who was interested in showing a completely new generation of artists. I approached him about doing a second version of the REALLIFE Magazine presents… idea, but with younger artists, a goup I was beginning to see as a next wave.
